Kurt is a sculptor based in Irvine, CA, whose art reflects his unique life experiences and artistic vocabulary.  Kurt developed his creativity during his early years while working on a farm in Ohio. Limited means necessitated that he find imaginative ways, utilizing a variety of available materials, to perform everyday repairs for machinery and structures. Later, his work at public defender offices and homeless shelters gave him insight into people’s desires, fears, anxieties, motivations, and hardships. These insights compelled him to grow and obtain a better understanding of human nature, social issues, and the human condition. His sculptures reflect the accumulation of his experiences.

Kurt has exhibited his work in galleries throughout the United States, including Seattle, Chicago, and Los Angeles. He also owned and operated Gallery 40 in Chicago, where he showcased the works of emerging and established artists. Kurt studied figure sculpture at the Seattle Academy of Fine Art and is a graduate of DePaul University.
